front cabin R34

Posted: 3 Dec 2020 - By: Carl Sparwer

Recently aquired the "Private Dancer", a Rival 34 in The Netherlands and looking forward to the new season!

The berth in the front part of the boat is placed very high to my opinion. Since we are both quite tall and not really "circus artists" I am considering to rebuild it.

The idea is to lower the whole construction about 20cm; it might make the beds slightly more narrow, but it would give more space to get in and out the of the beds.

I get the impression it would also make the berths a bit longer because of the way the bulkhead is placed in the front.

Does anyone have experience with doing this, or does anybobody want to talk me out of it?

Looking forward to your comments.

Carl
