Pre-Spring Boat Prep

Time to work on the boat
Posted: 4 Mar 2010 - By: Jim & Stephanie Heynderickx
This weekend starts the official "pre-spring" boat work.

The wife is off sailing for three days on a Beneteau First 37, so the kids and I need to do the responsible thing and start the pre-season checklist:

Change oil and filter.

Change fuel filters and clean glass bowl.

Replace antifreeze

Change tranny oil.

Exercise all thru-hulls.

Check/replace water filters on fresh water system.

Replace seals on water and diesel fill caps.

Oil the teak

Wash the halyards and sheets (soak in warm soapy water, agitate, rinse.

Replace the water pressure pump on fresh water system.

Install the Nasa battery monitor.

The list goes on-- we need to do at least half before our week-long trip at the start of April (to somewhere).
