repair of rudder R34
Catastrophic failure
The rudder on my R34 failed when attempting to motor off the mooring.I have been unable to remove the central steel bolt and therefore the rudder to attempt repair .The boat is 1973 model.Does anyone know where I can source info on the rudder / centre pin configuration so I can find out the cause of the failure and thus correct it?
So far I have managed to lift the centre through a travel of approximately 10 inches at which point it will rise no further and it feels as if it is banging against something.
Any help would be gratefully received.
